2009 "Best Places to Work" Awards Recognize Top Local Employers
Greater Reno-Tahoe joins 41 communities across the nation in recognizing the region’s best employers at the second annual Greater Reno-Tahoe “Best Places to Work” Awards. What sets this contest a part from other awards programs is that employees decide which company is the best place to work.
This year nearly 120 companies were nominated based on anonymous employee satisfaction surveys. A diverse group of 56 employers were chosen as finalists. One winning company will be selected in each category: small (15-50 employees), medium (51-150 employees) and large (151+ employees). Awards for second and third place in each category will also be presented. Quantum Workplace, a specialist in measuring workplace satisfaction, is the national administrator of the Best Places to Work awards program through the use of its proprietary survey methodology.
When:Thursday, April 30, 2009 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Atlantis Casino Resort Spa – Paradise Terrace Ballroom
Why: Despite the current economic downturn, the Greater Reno-Tahoe business community is host to companies that are providing their employees with positive and empowering workplaces. The “Best Places to Work” Awards recognize these employers for their best practices.
Who: Nearly 400 business and community leaders are expected to attend this year’s awards reception. The Greater Reno-Tahoe “Best Places to Work” Awards are hosted by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN), the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association (NNHRA) and the Reno Gazette-Journal.
