The company has grown from eight employees in mid-2008 to more than 40 employees in 2011.

Why:
The Greater Reno-Tahoe region has emerged as an epi center for geothermal energy with a cluster of the world’s top geothermal operators based in Reno. The region’s high concentration of raw geothermal resources, position bordering the two largest geothermal-energy producing states (California and Nevada), and Nevada’s business-friendly climate, make Reno-Tahoe a geothermal hot spot for business investment and job creation.
Over the past two years, Ram Power has grown its workforce to more than 40 highly-skilled, good-paying positions including: general counsel, chief financial officer, tax officer, human resources positions, accounting and financial planning and engineers. In addition to employing 40 in Reno, the company employs 150 at its San Jacinto-Tizate geothermal project in Nicaragua.
Ram Power has three geothermal projects currently underway in California and Nicaragua. The company has invested in an early-stage 32 megawatt Nevada geothermal project in Clayton Valley situated on the California boarder in Esmeralda County, Nev. Ram Power has a contract to sell energy generated from the plant to NV Energy. When the project comes online in 2014 it will create between 15-18 new jobs.
