Reno, Nev., (December 7, 2011) –  Downtown Reno is soon to be home to a new business process outsourcer company that is opening a service support center that expects to initially employ up to 180 local residents, and potentially up to 300 employees within the next several years.  Fusion Contact Centers today announced at a news conference attended by Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, city, county and economic development leaders, that the company is leasing 14,000 square feet at the Jones Vargas Center, a Class A office building located at 300 East 2nd Street, in Reno, Nev.  The building is owned and managed by Basin Street Properties

Based in Arizona, Fusion Contact Centers was founded in 1999 and specializes in providing companies with customer care, technical support, billing inquiry, online gaming support (MMO), content management, back-office support, e-commerce, and inbound sales and retention through various support channels such as inbound voice, chat and email support.

“Fusion is excited to locate its newest facility here in the Greater Reno-Tahoe region. It will give our company access to an educated and available workforce,” said Ryan Romero, vice president of operations for Fusion Contact Centers.  “We see Reno as a highly desirable destination for both our clients and our employees, because of its proximity to the San Francisco Bay Area, Reno's wealth of natural resources and its quality of life.”

Interested applicants can apply for Fusion positions by visiting the company’s website at www.fusioncontactcenters.com/careers, emailing careers@callfusion.com or calling 805.346.0093.

“The announcement from Fusion about its investment in Reno is positive employment news as we close out the year knowing that 180 northern Nevadans will soon be back at work earning an income and benefits,” said Governor Brian Sandoval.  “Additionally, Fusion plans to expand, creating up to 300 new jobs in the next five years, providing longer-term economic stability in our region and for our citizens.”

Economic development officials cite business and financial services companies and call centers, like Fusion, among the target industries identified in an economic development study recently released by the Bookings Institute and SRI International as a growth sector for Nevada.

“Fusion is an ideal company for downtown Reno’s emerging professional and financial services core, creating above-average wage jobs with benefits for the industry, and also filling office space in one of our region’s prime downtown office buildings,” said Mike Kazmierski, president/CEO of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN), which along with NAI Alliance and Basin Street Properties assisted the company to locate in northern Nevada.

Today’s announcement follows last month’s ReCharge Nevada Economic Development Summit in which state and local officials addressed strategies to lead the region’s economic recovery.
