The BR&E team made 13 company visits in July and, 11 of them are growing now or in the next 12 months. The team made 5 referrals to higher education, including internship referrals, and will continue to make business to business connections and tackle business issues in the new fiscal year. Northern Nevada continues to distinguish itself as a place for innovative technology, and the team attended the grand opening of the newly located Aqua Metals which, in less than a year, has built a new facility in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. This will house the first Aquarefinery® for lead acid batteries in the world. To learn more go here.
The team is excited to launch the new Business Toolkit in the Existing Business section of the EDAWN website. This toolkit provides a wealth of information about background checks, resources for hiring, State of Nevada business formation, transportation, utilities, foreign trade zone, and a new industrial supplier list. It also contains input from experts on a variety of topics that may be of interest to new or existing companies. Check it out here.
In addition to putting Nevadans to work, we need to attract talent to the region. During this years Burning Man event, be on the lookout for a few strategically placed billboards in the area. You never know when one of the visitors during these busy summer event months might turn out to be your next recruiting candidate!
