Congratulations to TMCC on the Frank N. Bender Center for Applied Logistics Management, which had its official launch and Ribbon Cutting on April 13th.
The Center will bridge the gap between academic and professional realms of logistics, and will offer education and training to build and enhance a competitive Northern Nevada workforce in a global economy. In 2015, TMCC received approval to establish a new four-year degree in Logistics Management to help meet anticipated demand for workers.
TMCC offers Certificate programs and Associate of Applied Science degrees in Logistics Management, and a full 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics Operations Management. For more information, go here.
Congratulations to the rookie all girls team, Sonic Screwdrivers, and their experienced Team Captain, for their performances at the First Tech Challenge (FTC) Super Regional in Tacoma, WA.
A shout out to Henry Sturm and Nanami Duncan from FTC Team 5687, Team Captain. Mr. Strum sang the National Anthem, and Ms. Duncan accompanied the anthem in sign language for the opening ceremonies. Nevada Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), Procurement Outreach Program (POP) is offering a free workshop and panel discussion in Reno on May 5, 2017 from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at the Washoe County Government Center (Building ‘C’, Central Conference Room C110).
The PTAC program simplifies the process of connecting Nevada businesses with state government. For more information, go here.

The Washoe K-12 Education Foundation, in partnership with The Chamber & EDAWN, invite you to attend “The Business of Education” Luncheon to find out. This event will connect business with education by communicating the successful efforts of the Washoe County School District to prepare students for the workforce. Benefiting the Washoe K-12 Education Foundation, the event will highlight what opportunities are available for our 65,000 children in public school, as well as how businesses can participate.
