Western Industrial Nevada (WIN) is a membership organization of diverse business people, concerned citizens and go-getters, with the common goal to create an open forum for connections and the sharing of ideas among northern Nevada’s professional community.  WIN holds monthly breakfast meetings generally on the last Friday of every month at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino beginning at 7 a.m.

Reno’s Best Places to Work Program is celebrating their 10 year anniversary!

This initiative began in 2008 to honor organizations who deliver an outstanding work experience. Northern Nevada Human Resources Association (NNHRA) believes that all workplaces should strive to be a Best Place to Work. This Special 2017 10th Anniversary Gala, includes dinner, entertainment and recognition of their extraordinary participants and winners. The event will be held at the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Here is more information.

Nevada Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), Procurement Outreach Program (POP) is offering a free workshop and panel discussion in Reno on May 5, 2017 from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at the Washoe County Government Center (Building ‘C’, Central Conference Room C110).

The PTAC program simplifies the process of connecting Nevada businesses with state government. For more information go here.

The TMCC Safety Center, now celebrating its 30-year anniversary for training about 55,000 people in safety programs, is building customized safety training courses for companies in the region, including Aqua Metals, Inc. a cutting-edge recycler of lead-acid batteries.

The Center has put four new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) units into its hazardous materials training programs, along with four more Level A Encapsulated chemical training suits. Now, the Center provides approved courses for organizations to meet mandates of the EPA, OSHA, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Stat Pack is a monthly business e-report, co-authored by Mike PeQueen of HighTower Las Vegas and John Restrepo of RCG Economics, with input from Brian Bonnefant of UNR. 

It combines important metrics relevant to business decision makers and financial commentary on current issues facing the Nevada economy. The Stat Pack features data and dialogue about the Southern and Northern Nevada economies. Here is last Friday’s Fact Pack!

The Washoe K-12 Education Foundation, in partnership with The Chamber & EDAWN, invite you to attend “The Business of Education” Luncheon to find out. This event will connect business with education by communicating the successful efforts by the Washoe County School District to prepare students for the workforce. Benefiting the Washoe K-12 Education Foundation, the event will highlight what opportunities are available for our 65,000 children in public school, as well as how businesses can participate.
