Reno, Nev., (March 10, 2014) – Reno is soon to be home to a new food distribution center for an established company with over 3,000 items in their product line. Truly Good Foods is opening a distribution center expecting to employ up to 15 local residents in five years.

Truly Good Foods is a food manufacturer, importer and distributor of bulk and packaged snacks & specialty foods. Founder Jerry York opened the first location in 1977 in Orlando, followed later that year by their Charlotte, NC office. They have now expanded into Memphis, Atlanta, Washington DC, Dallas, and most recently, Reno.

“We desired to expand our 36 year presence to the West Coast and we looked very hard at our options geographically. Reno won out due to its proximity to other major cities and its work force potential. Our customers want our high quality products in 1 or 2 days. Reno lets us accomplish this requirement”, said John Bauer President of Truly Good Foods.

Initially, operations at the Reno facility will concentrate on distribution of their product lines. Later, Truly Good Foods plans to open a manufacturing facility to supplement their existing operations on the East Coast in Charlotte and Orlando. The positions which will be filled range from management roles to warehouse personnel.

Truly Good Foods will provide quality jobs with an emphasis on long term job opportunities. Their focus is to create a safe environment and a culture rich in growth and learning. The executive team at Truly Good Foods strives to hire employees from within and effectively utilize their talents to accomplish organizational goals. Truly Good Foods represents a great place to work and will be an asset our region.

“Any day that we can welcome a new employer to Northern Nevada is a great day,” said Mike Kazmierski, president/CEO of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN). “To have Truly Good Foods choose Reno for distribution because of our strategic location with plans to add manufacturing in the future, shows how the two target industries are linked.”
