RENO, Nev. (Oct. 24, 2017) – The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) announced today that PODS Enterprises, LLC, a leader in portable moving and storage container solutions, is opening a West Coast sales and service center in Reno, Nevada. Headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, the new facility will help PODS keep pace with their continued growth.  PODS plans to hire more than 300 associates over their first two years of operation.

When PODS invented the concept of portable storage containers in 1998, the moving and storage industry was changed forever. Before PODS came along, consumers were at the mercy of a full-service mover or a truck rental company to move and store their belongings, which meant hauling stuff back and forth to and from self-storage units. PODS introduced a whole new way to move and store, becoming disruptors and pioneers of a whole new industry. PODS services 46 states, Canada, and Australia and has made over 3 million deliveries.

“PODS is excited about the expansion of our sales and customer service operations into Reno,” said Eric Higdon, vice president of sales and service center operations at PODS. “We considered several locations across the nation, and Reno stood out on several key factors important to our organization. We are especially excited about the overall positive direction and growth of the city, and we look forward to a long relationship with Reno.”

PODS is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a variety of positions in Reno, Nevada. Job seekers can apply directly to http://careers.PODS.com.

“I’m thrilled that PODS Enterprises has chosen south Reno as the location for its new sales and service center,” said Naomi Duerr, Reno City Councilmember and representative of Ward 2, where the center will be located. “We welcome the innovative PODS team with open arms to ‘The Biggest Little City,’ and we are excited that they’re adding hundreds of jobs to our growing workforce.”

“PODS understands that good service sells and they are listening to their customers,” said Mike Kazmierski, President and CEO of EDAWN.  “The opening of a new sales and service center in Reno supports this mindset and the company’s growth plans while adding a considerable number of new jobs to our region.”

Business partners who assisted PODS with their decision to relocate to Reno include the Site Selection Group from Dallas; David Woods and Matt Grimes of CBRE; Nevada Job Connect; the Governor’s Office of Economic Development; and Tyler Sheldon, ProEquity Asset Management.
