Business Retention | Expansion

Happy Holidays from the EDAWN Team! On behalf of the EDAWN Board of Trustees and staff, we wish you the very best this holiday season. We are excited about the progress we’ve made over the past year: more than 2,100 new quality jobs; the attraction of 15 new corporate headquarters; with a 38% increase in the average wage of assisted companies over the past two years. With a full pipeline and some significant announcements planned, 2019 looks like it is setting up to be another great year!
**EDAWN’s new address** as of December 19, 2018: 401 Ryland Street, Ste. 101, Reno, NV 89502
There were plenty of great achievements by existing Northern Nevada companies in 2018! Here’s a quick recap! The EDAWN team celebrated expansions for local companies: Fulcrum Sierra Biofuels, US Ordnance, and Arconic Fasteners and Rings, and also celebrated grand openings and launches for the Panasonic Reno Recruiting Center, Horiba’s new Reno facility, Elemental LED, and Mary’s Gone Crackers. Primary companies visited by EDAWN reported 281 jobs added in the past year, not including the creation of jobs by newly located companies. Elemental LED Inc. and Rubik Environmental were named Company of the Year (large and small respectively) in the annual EDAWN Existing Industry Awards. Go here for more information.
Other noteworthy awards for 2018 included Noble Studios, named NCET’s Technology Company of the Year award and Breadware, named Technology Startup of the Year. There were also a number of Primary Employers who won top honors as Best Places to Work including CustomInk, Server Technology, and Healing Health Care Systems. A number of great non-primary companies recognized in the past year by the Small Business Administration included: Sup-Family Owned Small Business of the Year Reno; Microenterprise Business of the Year: Craft Wine & Beer, Reno; and Rural Small Business of the Year Royal Floors, Fernley. Congratulations and thank you to all the existing companies in the region who are the foundation of our local economy!
