Valeo North America Expands Northern Nevada Manufacturing Operations to Support Growing Electric Vehicle Production
Reno, Nev. (June 11, 2026) – Valeo North America, Inc., a global automotive technology supplier, will expand its Storey County manufacturing facility to launch a new production line dedicated to electric vehicle battery cooling systems. The project was recently approved for state tax abatements by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) Board.
At the center of the expansion is a new production line for serpentine cooling ribbons, a specialized component used in EV battery systems. These cooling tubes circulate coolant between battery cells to regulate temperature, prevent overheating, and reduce the risk of thermal runaway. As automakers scale electric vehicle production globally, demand for these critical safety and performance components continues to grow.
“We’re grateful that Valeo chose to expand here in Northern Nevada,” said Taylor Adams, President and CEO of EDAWN. “Their continued investment reflects the strength of our manufacturing base and the confidence companies place in this region’s long-term growth.”
The expansion represents more than $26 million in total capital investment and will add 173 new jobs, growing Valeo’s Northern Nevada workforce from 290 to 463 employees. All construction and facility improvements will be performed by licensed local contractors, and Valeo has indicated a strong preference to source equipment and supplies through Nevada-based businesses where possible. Over the next decade, the project is projected to generate more than $11.3 million in net new tax revenue for state and local government and support 355 direct and construction jobs, $177 million in regional payroll, and a total economic impact exceeding $1 billion.
“Valeo’s expansion further strengthens Nevada’s position as a leader in advanced manufacturing and the electric vehicle supply chain,” said GOED Executive Director Tom Burns. “This investment will create quality jobs in Northern Nevada while supporting an industry that is critical to our state’s long-term economic growth.”
Beyond the production line itself, Valeo continues to invest in its workforce and community. The company offers internship programs across departments including process engineering, quality engineering, and finance, alongside an internal advancement program, and a recent training initiative is helping team members build skills in robotics and machinery. Locally, the Valeo team partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fernley and supports food drives benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
Headquartered in Paris and operating across the United States, Valeo develops technologies focused on vehicle safety, sustainability, and performance, with particular strength in electric and hybrid vehicle systems. The company’s facility along USA Parkway has been part of Northern Nevada’s manufacturing base for nearly a decade, and its continued investment reflects the growing role the region plays in the electric vehicle and clean energy supply chain.
