GreatCall and EDAWN Announce 400 Jobs in Reno, Nev.
RENO, Nev. (April 29, 2013) – GreatCall, Inc. and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) announced the opening of a new call center location in Reno, Nev. at a press conference today at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. The move will bring approximately 400 business support jobs to Reno throughout the next five years, including 75 jobs within the first six months.

King of the West Entertainment Brings 70 Jobs to Greater Reno-Sparks-Tahoe
Reno is now called home to the King of the West Entertainment (KWS) a motorsports entertainment company headquarters, relocated from California. With a mission to become a catalyst for promoting motorsports in northern Nevada, KWS plans to hire an initial 70 people within year one and expect a heavy multiplier by year five.

EDAWN Announces Five Additions to 2012-2013 Board of Trustees
The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) welcomes five new members to its 2012-2013 Board of Trustees. Cam Sorenson the HR Leader for Intuit, Be-Be Adams government affairs and community relations manager for Barrick Gold Corporation, Heidi Gansert, special assistant to the president for external affairs at the University of Nevada, Reno, Jim McClenahan 2012-2013 Chamber Liaison and Lance Gilman, Storey County Commissioner have joined the EDAWN board.

Washoe County Joins Western Nevada Development District
The Board of Directors for the Western Nevada Development District (WNDD) announced today that it has voted unanimously to incorporate Washoe County, including the City of Reno and City of Sparks, into its nine county region. The inclusion of Washoe County, in addition to Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Humboldt, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing and Storey Counties, will create more opportunities for cooperation among counties, and greater access to resources such as federal grant monies to further economic development in western Nevada.

Reno Tahoe Entrepreneurs’ Optimistic About Business Outlook
More than three quarters of Reno-Tahoe area entrepreneurs experienced an increase in revenue in the past six months, according to a recent survey conducted by The Entrepreneurs' Organization. Reno Tahoe leads against global entrepreneurs, with 75% of Reno Tahoe stating their business had increased revenue in past six months, 17% have stayed the same and 8% have seen a decrease in revenue. This compares to global results of 68% seeing an increase, 20% staying the same and 12% having decreases.
