The BRE&W Development team visited 12 companies in January and continues to provide assistance and make connections with education and workforce resources.

The majority of companies visited are still growing and added over 155 new positions in the last year.

The Employer Workforce Resource Guide is now available on our website and also available in print version.

This guide provides contacts for posting open positions, internship and apprenticeship programs, education resources, and other miscellaneous workforce development organizations that can assist companies with finding and developing talent.

The City of Reno has scheduled an additional public workshop regarding their Business License Ordinance

Thursday, Feb. 23 at 3:30 p.m. at Reno City Hall in the Council Chambers (first floor).

Additionally, here is the new timeline for review and consideration by the Reno City Council:

March 8, 2017 – Discuss the proposed ordinance and fee schedule in concept and seek comment from the Council and the public.
March 22, 2017 – First reading of the ordinance and review of the draft fee schedule.
April 12, 2017 – Second reading of the ordinance and consideration of the fee schedule for approval.
All three meetings are to begin at noon and will be held at Reno City Hall in the Council Chambers.
