“Hip Hip Hooray!” – Registration is now open for the 5th annual EDAWN Existing Industry Awards. Please join us in celebrating the successes and accomplishments of the many outstanding companies that make up the backbone of our regional economy…our existing Primary companies. Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 13th, 2016 at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. Register Here.
The BR&E team visited 14 companies in the month of August, more than half of which are reporting current and future growth, with only one reporting a slight decline due to increased automation in their facility. The team was pleased to learn that more and more employers are registered with TMCC to post open positions and there was also significant growth in the number of job postings and students registered in the program. We also encourage employers to connect with the University of Nevada Career Studio orpost positions here. Both institutions offer multiple programs and services for both students and employers and are a great resource to help companies build and hire talent.
During Burning Man festival week, EDAWN promoted the region as a place to consider for a career. The advertising pointed those interested to the recently launched RethinkReno.com site. While our top priority is putting Nevadans to work, the attraction of additional skilled workers and professionals is also important, in order to meet the needs of current and future employers. Other workforce attraction campaigns are also being planned.
